Chalco to build 800,000-ton alumina project in north China

       Chalco (601600.SH; 2600.HK; ACH. NYSE) has got the green light from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to launch a new alumina project with an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons in north China's Shanxi Province.


       The project area has abundant natural resources with proved reserves of coal totaling 4.76 billion tons, that of aluminum bauxite, 130 million tons, and that of limestone, 441 million tons.


       The project will apply Chalco's self-independently developed techniques and also have accessory mine exploring and production systems.
