China's Guangxi Huayin Aluminium aims to have its alumina production fully operational by June 18, after starting up its fourth and final line by June 10, a company official said Wednesday.

"The first three lines are already up and running and the fourth line is expected to start in the next few days, by end-May or early June ...everything should be operational by June 18, that's our goal," the official said.

The company has four production lines with an alumina capacity of 400,000 mt/year each, making up a total of 1.6 million mt/year.

In 2008, its first year of full operation, Guangxi Huayin has targeted an alumina output of 800,000 mt.

Guangxi Huayin, established in 2003, is a joint investment between Guangxi Investment Group, China Minmetals Nonferrous, and the Aluminium Corp of China, or Chalco.
