Coal firm profit up

CHINA National Coal Group, the country's second-biggest producer of the fuel by sales, said profit rose 62 percent in the first five months as output gained and prices increased.


The state-owned coal producer's profit climbed to 4.1 billion yuan (US$591 million), the Beijing-based company said in a statement on its Website yesterday, without indicating whether the profit is before or after tax.
