China's Datong Coal sees H1 profit up over 155 pct

  China's Datong Coal Industry Co (601001.SS: Quote, Profile, Research), one of the country's biggest coal producers, said on Tuesday its profit for the first half of 2008 is estimated to jump at least 155 percent, on rising coal prices and a lower tax rate.


    It also said in a company filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange that output from the Tashan Coal Mine has surged, contributing to rising profits.


    The company posted a net profit of 244.36 million yuan ($35.74 million) for the six months to the end of June 2007. It gave no further details. ($1=6.835 Yuan)
