Zijin Mining has signed a MOU with the Tajikistan government in Tajikistan on August 27, 2008. Mr. Rakhmon, the president of Tajikistan and Mr. Hu Jintao, the president of China attended the signing ceremony.

The MOU was signed by Zijin's chairman Chen Jinghe and a Tajikistan government representative. According to the MOU, Tajikistan will be one of most significant areas for Zijin's overseas investment

During the Beijing 2008 Olympic games, Mr. Rakhmon, president of Tajikistan met with Zijin's chairman Chen Jinghe. Mr. Rakhmon said that Tajikistan government favored Zijin Mining significantly.
