Changqing oil and gas output in Q1 hit 37-yr high despite snow disaster

   CNPC Changqing Oilfield in the first quarter rolled out 3.304 million tons of crude oil, up 9.53 percent year on year, and 3.542 bcm of natural gas, a y-o-y increase of 33.41 percent, marking a 37-year high in oil and gas output, CNPC website reported on Thursday.


   Despite being stricken by snow disaster in February, Changqing Oilfield has put all qualified wells into operation since March, said the report.


   As one of CNPC's heavyweight oilfields, Changqing Oilfield targets to produce 30 million ton/year of oil and gas equivalent by 2009.


   CNPC is parent of PetroChina (PTR.NYSE; 0857.HK; 601857.SH).
