BEIJING, June 23 - Domestic traders said Baosteel Group has lifted prices of rolled steel for August by 200-400 yuan/ton,according to Umetal.com.

     Prices (tax excluded) of cold-rolled steel, hot-rolled steel,pickling steel, and wire rod will increase 200 yuan/ton, 300 yuan/ton,200 yuan/ton, and 400 yuan/ton, respectively.

Though Baosteel hasn't officially announced the price hike, it is probably made on the basis of price for July.

Xu Xiangchun, an industrial analyst, said that the price hike was mainly induced by increasing price margin between domestic and international price, and surging production costs which main come  from further price hike of coking coal and coke.

Wang Zhaohua, analyst with TX Investment Consulting, reckoned that Baosteel would adjust up the prices further in the future, and it is  due to produce a certain impact on China's steel market.
