China's silicon iron price fell to 9, 000 yuan/ton as of July 1, plunging by 25 percent in comparison with the summit price in June.

Insiders deemed that a turning point has appeared for silicon iron price in China's domestic market.

Deng Xiaoming with Umetal.com said that the sliding trend for silicon price has formed upon shrunk overseas orders and domestic demand.

Silicon iron price was 5,800 yuan/ton at the beginning of this year. It started climbing in March and hit summit price of 12,000 yuan/ton in June.

An official with a silicon iron enterprise in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region told China Securities Journal that most Chinese enterprises are in production under orders received earlier, which are expected to be delivered this month.

Enterprises are not optimistic about orders after August. They predicted that the silicon iron market would enter a low tide in August-September if the silicon price continues falling and the electricity price keeps up.
