First Quantum Minerals Q2 copper production 80,600 tonnes, up 6 pct vs Q1

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. said it has produced a record 80,600 tonnes of copper for the second quarter of 2008, up 6 percent from the first quarter of 2008 and 60 percent higher than the second quarter of 2007.
The mining company said copper concentrate stockpiles at the end of the second quarter totaled about 28,600 tonnes, a decrease of 3,000 tonnes from the March 31, 2008 level of 31,600 tonnes.
