China's coke export volume in the second half is expected to be slight lower than that a year earlier, predicted the China Association of Coking Industry in a half-year report on the coking industry.
Driven by higher international coal price, China's coke export increased greatly in the first half despite tariff raise from 15 percent to 25 percent.
The coke export increased 10.2 percent year on year to 25.49 million tons in the first half, with June export up 83 percent to 6.99 million tons.
The net export of coke in the first half was 3.94 million tons, leading to tight coke supply in domestic market.
With the fall of international oil price and economic growth margin, international market is expected to have moderate demand for China coke in the second half, said Huang Jingan, President of China Coking Industry Association.
The export in the second half is likely to be lower than that a year earlier, added Huang.
