China Jan-August crude oil imports up 8.7 pct at 120 mln tons - customs

    China imported 120 mln tons of crude oil in the eight months to August, up 8.7 pct year-on-year, the General Administration of Customs said.


    August crude imports totaled 15.65 mln tons, up from 14 mln tons a year earlier.


    The country imported 28.72 mln tons of oil products during the January to August period, up 18.3 pct from a year earlier.


    August oil product imports totaled 3.34 mln tons, up from 2.53 mln tons a year earlier.


    China exported 2.22 mln tons of crude oil in the first eight months, down 23.7 pct year-on-year, while August exports stood at 400,000 tons.


    China also exported 10.93 mln tons of oil products during January to August, up 6.3 pct from a year earlier, while August exports stood at 1.4 mln tons.
