Coal export price doubled in Aug.

    Export price of coal reached 1,275.12 yuan per ton in August this year, rising 99.4 percent year on year, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs.


    China exported 33.64 million tons of coal in the first eight months of this year, rising merely 0.3 percent year on year, valued at 3.51 billion US dollars, up 75.6 percent. The export value in the same period last year was 2.0 billion US dollars.


    The average export price surged from 59.6 US dollars per ton in the first eight months last year to 104.4 US dollars per ton.


    Export of coal in August was 3.37 million tons, dropping 28 percent year on year.


    The statistics show that the country's import of coal amounted to 28.68 million tons in the first eight months, down 18 percent year on year, with the average import price standing at 75.8 US dollars perton, up 64.9 percent year on year.


    Export of coke and semi coke was 9.68 million tons in the first eight months, down 5.7 percent year on year, and the export value increased to 4.36 billion US dollars from 1.82 billion US dollars inthe same period last year, jumping 140 percent. The export price increased to 450 US dollars per ton from 177 US dollars per ton in the same period last year, rising 154 percent.
