China's Jan.-Jul. gold production rises 5.22 pct

    China produced 152.505 tons of gold over January-July, up 5.22 percent, or 7.572 tons, from the previous same period, according to the China Gold Association.


    In July, the country produced 23.417 tons of gold.


    Over the first seven months of the year, the country's gold producers churned out 124.776 tons of mineral gold, up 5.28 percent year on year.


    In the seven months, the country's non-ferrous refiners and gold refiners produced 75.535 tons of product gold, 2.75 percent more than the corresponding period of 2007.


    In the seven months, China's gold producers aggregated an industry output value of 72.0082 billion yuan, up 90.60 percent year on year.


    In July alone, the value stands at 11.8303 billion yuan.
