Shandong Province plans vigorous development of gold industry

Shandong Province, China's leading gold producer for over 30 years recently announced its scheme of adjusting and vigorously developing the gold industry in the next three years. In 2011, Shandong's output of gold produced in mines will reach 67 tons and gold deep processing capability will reach 200 tons.

Shandong will make the best efforts to increase annual output and deep processing capability respectively by 12 percent.


The gold mining, sluicing, smelting and refining enterprises in Shandong Province have advanced production technologies and equipments, making them leaders of this industry in China. Shandong's annual output of gold has been the largest in China for over 30 years. In 2008, the output of gold produced in its mines was 47.62 tons, which accounted for 21 percent of China's total gold output for the year.
