Daqing Railway sees to handle 380 Mt coal in 2010

Daqin Railway, the major coal transportation railway line in northern of China, aimed to handle at least 380 million tonnes coal in 2010, growing 15 percent year on year, disclosed by an official from Daqin Railway Co.
As coal production in Shanxi and Inner Mongolia see to jump in 2010, Daqin railway could achieve this goal, said the offical.
The railway has handled about 330 million tonnes of coal in last year, down 3 percent year on year.
As a result of the falling demand and volatile coal price caused by the global economic crisis, Daqin Railway suffered plunge in the first three quarter in 2009, and it finally turned around in the fourth quarter by climbing 12.5 percent from the previous quarter.
Daqin railway, the 1,000-km line double-line heavy-loaded electrified rail line links Datong, Shanxi Province, north China, and the port city of Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province, also transports China's export coal.
