China's tax revenue up 9.1% in 2009

China's tax revenue amounted to RMB 6.31 trillion in 2009, up 9.1% year on year, according to statistics released by the State Administration of Taxation on Friday.

Statistics showed that domestic valued-added, consumption and business taxes rose 3.8%, 85.4% and 18.2% from a year earlier to RMB 1.88 trillion, RMB 476.1 billion and RMB 901.5 billion, respectively.

The combined tax on imports went up 4.6% year on year to RMB 774.7 billion in 2009. Individual income tax amounted to RMB 394.4 billion, representing an increase of 5.9% from a year agoHowever, the corporate income tax in 2009 slid 0.3% year on year to RMB 1.22 trillion, while the cumulative securities stamp tax fell 47.9% year on year to RMB 51.4 billion.
