No tarnish on prospects for stainless steel
The stainless steel industry in China will continue to expand during the country's 12th Five-Year-Plan (2011-15) as a result of incentives stemming from ongoing urbanization and construction, experts said on Wednesday.

South China's Yingtan city to set up copper inspection center
A new copper quality supervision and inspection center at Yingtan City in South China's Jiangxi Province will formally begin operations in June, as part of the government's efforts to increase transparency in the industry, Yingtan's municipal government said Wednesday.

Platinum may see fall in supply, demand this year
THE platinum market had an oversupply of 430,000 ounces in 2011, as a slight rise in demand was more than offset by higher supply. The unbalanced market may create even less supply and demand for the metal, a recent report said.
