China may scrap export tax rebate on high-quality zinc

China is planning to scrap the export tax rebate on zinc that is over 99.995 pct pure, the official Shanghai Securities News reported, citing sources from China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association (CNMIA).


The currently export tax rebate rate on this category is 5 pct.


The proposal is subject to approval by the state council.


The newspaper quoted CNMIA's plumbum and zinc department head as saying that China's zinc consumption this year is expected to increase by about 10 pct.
