China increases export threshold for rare metals

   China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and the General Administration of Customs (GAC) published the No. 54 Notice of 2007 to exert export quota license management over indium and molybdenum.


   The notice claims that as of June 18, 2007, China will exert export quota license management over indium and products and molybdenum and products. Eligible enterprises may apply for export quota licenses with provincial commercial departments.


   Moreover, to strengthen export management of resources commodities, MOC and GAC jointly issued a notice recently, exerting export license management over export of standard sand as of June 15, 2007.
